Council would like a limit to weekly event points gained. I just need to create another database to track how many points a user gains in a week. Use the database to decide if the points can be added, then update the total. Make sure they can get partial points if they are 1 below the cap and they host an event.

Side note: I think I want to rename the table and references to Event Points from Participation Points.

Use datetime.today().isocalendar() to get a year and a week number to determine how many points have been obtained in a week.

Side note: week starts on Monday with this method.
